How to choose the right tutor for your child

When a parent is looking for a tutor, they want to find a “strong teacher.” But for a child, it is not only a diploma and experience that is more important, but whether he feels contact, understands what is wanted from him, and whether he really begins to move forward.

Why the “by eye” choice doesn’t work

Sometimes the teacher can be very strong, but just not suitable for a particular child in the pace, presentation and style of communication. Then classes formally go on, and confidence and progress do not appear.

It is important for a parent to look not only at regalia, but also at how the teacher talks to your child, supports him and explains the complex in simple words.

What questions are worth asking

It is useful to ask how the teacher understands the level of your child, how he explains to the parents progress, and what he does if your child is afraid to speak or gets tired quickly.

If the answers are too general and it all boils down to the promise of “there will be results”, this is a reason to be careful.

How to understand that the format is suitable

After a few sessions, you can already notice the first signs: your child has become calmer, clamps less, answers more often and does not leave the tongue immediately after the first difficult question.

A good tutor makes progress visible to both your child and the parent – not abstractly, but by real changes in speech, confidence, and attitude to occupation.
