When a private tutor can work well
A strong independent tutor may be highly flexible, know the child well and adjust a lesson quickly. Communication and practical arrangements are usually direct.
Discuss the programme, feedback and cancellations in advance, including what happens if the tutor is ill or stops teaching.
What an online school may add
A school can combine the teacher with assessment, teaching materials, programme oversight and administrative support. Families may find it easier to request a different specialist or discuss the format with a coordinator.
The word ‘school’ is not a guarantee in itself. Check whether academic oversight really exists and how it affects the child’s lessons.

- Is there a clear learning plan?
- How is progress recorded?
- Who selects the materials?
- Can the teacher be changed?
- How are cancellations and technical problems handled?
What LUMI’s current pages confirm
LUMI programme pages describe level assessment, programme and material selection, progress monitoring and different formats depending on the course. Check the relevant course page rather than assuming that every option applies to every programme.
